Flow Rate Measurement with Pressure Controllers in Microfluidics

In order to measure a flowrate while using a pressure-based flow control,  you would integrate a flow meter into the setup. Alternatively, the flowrate can be calculated or calibrated with scales.

The liquid flow meters for the Microfluidics use different approaches. The most known ones use two principles:

– temperature-based flow measurement 

– Coriolis force-based flow measurement

Sometimes PIV (particle imaging velocimetry) can be used for the flow rate measurement in Microfluidics.
